There comes a time when we grow up. We marry. We age. We have children. As competitive cyclists, these things usually are met with grimaces and pats on the back—they are assumed to align with the end of one’s amateur career.
Yet, it’s bullshit. Some of the fastest people we know on the road or in cyclocross are in their 30s, 40s, 50s and have children. Kevin Bouchard-Hall has a World Tour-level w/kg. I was with someone recently who poked fun at a passing cyclist saying, “That guy looks like a total dad.” And I thought, “hell yeah.” Because I’m dad too. And now that I have this new Moots, I’m also a ti bike dad. And it’s the fucking best.
