Weekend Roll: Beach Cruising
After being beaten down by 3+ weeks of illness and then immediately hitting the road for several weekends in a row of racing from Pennsylvania to Binghamton, it was officially time for a break. So while much of the squad spent the weekend locally, racing in the final CRCA Club Series event of the 2015 season where Mat Street won the field sprint for 5th, I headed East for some much needed rest and relaxation ahead of a busy Labor Day weekend of racing at Gateway Cup. Long naps, empty trails and fireworks were the theme of the weekend, though we still managed to return to the city with our legs fried from some hard singletrack riding. Perhaps not the best preparation for Gateway Cup but in a year that has been characterized by too many hours at work and too few hours on the bike it was the perfect way to spend one of the last weekends of the summer.
