2020 Partner Roll Call: Metropolitan Dental Care
To Be Determined is pleased to announce Metropolitan Dental Care will be returning as a title-level partner for the TBD Women and a secondary partner of the TBD Men for the 2020 season. In 2019, the TBD Women’s team changed their name to To Be Determined f/b (“flossed by”) Metropolitan Dental Care, a name they will continue to use through 2020 and beyond.
Metropolitan Dental Care (MDC) is a centrally located Midtown Manhattan dental practice led by runner, triathlete, and cycling enthusiast Dr. Nicole Mermet. The practice has a focus on dental care for endurance athletes as well as cosmetic and restorative dentistry specialities. Dr. Mermet and MDC pay particular attention to our tendencies to ingest plentiful gels, chews, and sugary bars while training, and have specialized recommendations for athletes’ dental health. The MDC practice also features Elevated Legs recovery boots, to make a regular visit to the dentist part of an athlete’s recovery process.
With the support of MDC in 2019, the TBD-MDC women won the CRCA Team Cup, and TBD-MDC rider Stephanie Halamek won the individual Boyd Cup in the Elite Women’s category.
Dr. Mermet is in tune with our needs as athletes because she is one herself. She has raced CRCA, landing in the top 5 at the 2013 Women’s Intro Clinic. She’s also finished 12 marathons, 2010 Ironman Lake Placid, 2011 56-mile Comrades ultra-marathon, 2012 Ironman US Championship, 2014 SOS Triathlon, and the 2016 6-Day TransRockies Run. We are looking forward to some gravel and adventure riding with her in 2020.
