TBD Race Calendar: July 2019
It’s hard to believe, but due to scheduling quirks the CRCA Open Racing calendar has already come to an end just as the calendar has rolled over to July. But there is a still plethora of racing available in and around New York City in the upcoming weeks. A look at some of the big races featured on the TBD Race Calendar:
The opening weekend features a huge number of races. We’ll have a big squad at the Giro del Cielo stage race in New Jersey but for those sticking around NYC there will also be a CRCA Club Series race on Saturday in Central Park and a Lucarelli & Castaldi race on Sunday in Prospect Park. For those looking to get out of town there is also the (58th annual!) Longsjo Classic in Fitchburg, MA.
The weekend of July 13th and 14th is almost as busy as the opening weekend of the month. TBD will be sending a crew north to the always excellent Greenfield Criterium, but for those staying local in NYC there is another double header weekend in the city parks with a Castelli race on Saturday in Prospect Park and a CRCA Club Series race in Central Park on Sunday. For the road racers there is also the NY Capital Region Road Race just a few hours north of the city.
While we sad to largely be missing it this year, the Intelligentsia Cup in Chicago kicks off in the third weekend of the month, while it remains a bit of a down weekend otherwise with Raid Lamoille on the gravel side and the Pottstown Bike Race as the only two non-track events on the calendar for July 20th and 21st.
July winds down on the 27th with a mix of gravel and track racing: Irreverent Road Ride is on Saturday, while there are two days of track racing on tap at Kissena.
As always head over to the TBD Race Calendar for additional detail on these events.
