Hello, it's pronounced Boens. CX World Championships / Part 1

I was lucky to be on assignment at the CX World Championships. It was my first time at Worlds and it’s something I will never forget. After spending two days at the CX Worlds and I came home with more than 6000 images. This photoset is part one of two. Second one will be published next week.

Arrived to Copenhagen late Friday after a delayed flight the day before the championships. We just had enough time to drive to Bogense and get the media credentials and the photo vest. Even though I had a course map and I had re-watched the Bogense race from the previous year I knew that I was in for a lot of running trying to figure out the course layouts on the first day races.

I showed up at the course during the warm up to figure out how I was going to navigate through course. This is not a C1 or C2 race where there are couple of hundred fans and the course is mostly designed with yellow tape. Navigating through thousands of drunk fans who are claiming their spots and not moving was as challenging as jumping over some of those fences. Eventually I got a good route down on this very fast course that had a nice flow.

JUNIOR RACE AND THE FUTURE OF CYCLOCROSS: Having three races on a single day is a treat. First two races are the Junior & U23 and they are as exciting as the Elite races. They give you a taste of what you are going to watch in the next five years. Ben Tulett was the winner of Junior Worlds.
