TBD Race Calendar: September 2018

After this weekend road is officially dead as the season that began on frigid March mornings reaches its conclusion this weekend (with a few minor exceptions). As such the TBD Race Calendar is shifting focus to cyclocross as the team prepares to commute up and down the East Coast on a fleet of new Garneau bikes. A few of our favorite September events follow below but as always check out the Calendar page for the full breakdown of all the best East Coast events.

  • The opening weekend of the month features a crossover between road and cross as the team will split time at multiple events where we have enjoyed success in the past. The crit boys will be headed back to Gateway Cup while the team's road racers are driving North for GMSR where Scudney flew the team's flag with much success in the past. Finally those who have transitioned fully to cross will likely be headed to Granogue Cross in Delaware where Steve scored a podium not too long ago. All and all it is very much a 'choose your own adventure' type of weekend.

  • Weekend #2 in September is a pretty low key weekend in the tri-state area that will see most of TBD's cyclocross racers head to Whirly Bird for some fairly non-technical early season cross racing. For a few tips from the team's big crew at last year's even make sure to check out the Whirly Bird CX Race Report from 2017 (scroll to the bottom) for our pointers.

  • September 15/16 is one of our favorite weekends of the month as the squad will head to the Trexlertown Velodrome for some grass crit racing at Nittany Lion Cyclocross. We'll have a big crew as usual and look forward to spending the day post-race hunting for shade to cheer on our fellow racers. We had pretty extensive coverage of last year's event on the TBD Journal so check out our Photo Gallery and Race Report for more.

  • The rest of September is a bit more low key before heading into a busy and exciting month of cross racing in October (Charm City! Gloucester!). KMC Cross Fest is probably the biggest race in the second half of the month but we may stick to some of the other grassroots events on the calendar that fill out the schedule including Cooper River.

As always if we are missing any races from the calendar just drop us a note using the contact form on the TBD Race Calendar page. We want to make sure the calendar is as comprehensive as possible.
