Equal Pay & Fast Racing: Harlem Criterium 2018
We are the first to admit that we have a complicated relationship with the Harlem Criterium after speaking out publicly last year when the women's prize pool, already set 50% below the men's, was cut by another 20% on the start line of the race. We'll never second guess speaking out for equality in the often times lopsided sport of cycling but we will admit relief seeing that this year's Harlem Criterium offered equal pay as part of the step up to the USA Crits level. This also meant that there were absolutely stacked fields on hand for the elite races - races that we didn't want to miss. So after a very early morning racing the CRCA Club Series in Central Park we headed up to Marcus Garvey Park as spectators and enjoyed a brilliant Father's Day afternoon of racing.
