The Weekend That Was (TWTW)
It was a somewhat lower key weekend for racing in the tri-state area though a good chunk of the team headed up to Cheshire Cross on Saturday for the infamous hill people and plenty of singletrack action.
Unfortunately it was tough day for the squad as Steve flatted early in the race (this tweet from Colin Reuter summed things up nicely) though Clark managed a mid-hill marshmallow handup that was worthy of a bonus style points. In the end it was our resident single speeder, Ted, who came through with a 7th place finish in his race. With our photogs occupied elsewhere we'll recap the event with last year's DirtWire highlights:
On Sunday much of the team relaxed and hid from the mediocre weather that hit NYC though Clay was in action at Stoudts Cross where he scored a nice Top 10 finish as he works his way back from his injury earlier this year at Charm City (he also survived a run-in with a metal pole at Swashbuckler on Saturday to finish 19th but that's another story altogether):
Meanwhile a bit further afield Daghan Perker was busy shooting images at the PanAm Championships in Louisville including this post race shot of fellow Garneau athlete Michael van den Ham:
Last but not least we squeezed in some coffee roasting practice while watching MVDP put on a show in Europe. Stay tuned for more of our experimentation in making good coffee on the cheap soon(ish) on the TBD Journal.
