"Sick" Day

"Sick" Day

Friday morning. Despite blue skies it's 30 degrees outside. Winter is here and I don't really want to get out of bed.

But I check my phone and find a message from Daghan and Galvan proposing a Friday afternoon out of the office and on the trails (#sickday). It's an offer that is too good to refuse.

Less than an hour later we're pulling out of Manhattan heading toward Long Island and Stillwell Woods (one of our preferred "nearby" CX bike destinations, along with Six Mile Run). Being a Friday morning the trails are absolutely deserted. Heavy leaf coverage made for interesting cornering at times but plenty of laughs were had throughout - particularly when Daghan managed to boardslide along a bridge - and all crashes and mechanicals proved to be minor in nature.

Not too shabby for a "sick" day.
