In addition to a busy race schedule, Team Sixcycle-RK&O is also committed to raising funds for charitable causes, most notable via the Tour of Litchfield Hills, for which the team has raised more than $16,000 over the past two years. In October, several team members also raised funds for and helped marshal the Bike MS charity ride in New York City. Team Sixcycle-RK&O's own Daniel Cleiman wrote about the experience.

Bike MS 2013 Ride Report from Team Sixcycle-RK&O's Daniel Cleiman

Team Sixcycle-RK&O is a New York City based cycling team that competes in most major races throughout the northeast. A few times a year, we put aside our competitive spirit and volunteer with on-the-bike charitable events.

The New York City Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Ride was the third charity event in which the team participated this year after the Tour of Litchfield Hills and the Ride to Defeat ALS.

On October 6th, as the racing season ended and off-season miles began, a few Team Sixcycle-RK&O racers members gladly volunteered their time to marshal the 100 mile course. The NYC MS Ride is also an occasion when several local cycling teams come together and ride as a single group for a good cause. In 2013, the NYC MS Ride not only counted with the presence of Team Sixcycle-RK&O, but also Asphalt Green, FGX, Siggi’s, BH, Foundation, and Rockstar to name a few.

This year, the NYC MS Ride had the support of over 5,000 participants and 500 volunteers. To date, it has raised over 2.5 million dollars and is close to its goal of 2.7 million. For anyone who may be inclined to contribute to this fantastic cause, it’s not too late and you can do so at the following link:
