CRCA Club Series #1: A Short Recap

It was a successful first outing of the 2013 racing season for Team Sixcycle-RK&O as the team helped animate the first race of the CRCA Club Racing Series. The team toed the line with seven riders, well equipped thanks to Litespeed Bikes and Louis Garneau, and shortly thereafter Ben Fackler rode off the front of the peloton, bringing along two other riders for what would ultimately be a nearly three lap break. When it was finally reeled back in the racing picked up with numerous attacks off the front, though it all came back together on the final lap up Harlem Hill as the pack prepared for a field sprint. Unfortunately there was a crash in the finale though all of Team Sixcycle's riders came through clean (other than the top tube of one of the team bikes which was cracked) and Matthew Vandivort claimed second in the sprint finish. Tomorrow the team heads to Bethel for another day of racing.
